With its 220,000 S.F. expansion/remodel, the Clos du Bois Winery received entitlements as the largest winery in Sonoma County. Built on a 40-acre site, the project nearly doubled the existing 227,000 S.F. facility to continue its legacy as a premier destination in the Alexander Valley
The process-centric expansion included 150,000 S.F. of barrel storage and 70,000 S.F. of steel cellar along with employee areas, staff office, hospitality spaces and related operational components.
To retain the connection to the winery’s history, three existing wood framed buildings were relocated and repurposed into administrative offices, tasting room, and hospitality event buildings. With two of these buildings being positioned to take in the bucolic beauty of the nearby wetland and the scenic Alexander Valley, the size and scope of the project only accent the splendor of its surroundings.
