The prominent downtown location of the new Geyserville Fire Station headquarters enabled it to become a significant piece of urban architecture in a historical context. It added visual interest to this small but evolving rural community in Sonoma County, California.
The project includes a two-story fire house comprising administrative, training and kitchen uses on the first level, and living/sleeping quarters on the second level. A 5,300 S.F. apparatus bay houses 6 to 8 trucks with adjacent operational support rooms. The one-acre sloping site includes a 50-foot hose drying/training tower, secured staff parking, and a future location for firefighter housing.
Our role in the new 12,500 S.F. state-of-the-art headquarters included elements of Strategic Planning, Design and Planning, Construction, and Post Occupancy. Building the station in close proximity to the street allowed the project to be better engaged by the community while providing a public face for the City of Geyserville
